Relationships – sometimes they are completely confusing
Working on your romantic relationship can be literally some of the hardest work on the planet… next to maybe NASA stuff.
We enter a relationship with hopes and dreams of what it will be, and the Jerry McGuire scene starts playing in our heads when we consider marrying our sweetheart. If you haven’t discovered this yet, you will soon after the wedding cake is gone – that the other person does not, in fact, complete you.
Is the dream fading?
So, what do most people do when the dream is fading rather than coming true? Usually, we try doing the same things harder and harder with mediocre results. Eventually, we withdraw our conclusion that this person was our better half – and possibly believe they are standing in the way of our real dreams!
What we need is a fresh perspective.
We need to learn the basics of relationships and communication that weren’t taught in school, and your parents may not have passed on to you. This work would be easier if we were learning it for the first time, but we (meaning both of you) must unlearn some unhelpful habits you’ve picked up over the years.
Never fear – we all have quirks! The goal isn’t perfection but rather the ability to recognize your relationship needs support. If you both could do it on your own, you wouldn’t be reading this and instead would be having martinis on the veranda, or whatever puts a smile on your face. 😉
Therapist-tested, couple-approved
It sure is easy when you have someone who has done this a few times help you through the process. I’d like to be that therapist if you both are willing to try something different. The same old things will give you the same old things.
Do something new and give me a call to get started on your path
