Frequency of emotions: how to raise your vibration
Everything is energy, frequency and vibration. Our bodies, the seat you’re sitting on, your voice, your thoughts, and the breath in your lungs, all of it is simply made up of various collections of vibrating cells and energy waves. It’s really helpful to begin to understand and view your emotions in the same way. Thoughts, feelings and emotions are all just different frequencies. Vibrational energy experts claim that certain emotions and thought patterns, such as joy, peace, and acceptance, create high frequency vibrations, while other feelings and mindsets (such as anger, despair, and fear) vibrate at a lower rate.
David Hawkins, researcher and author of Power vs. Force, demonstrates emotions as energy. He devised a scale that rates the energy level of basic human emotions, with a range of 1 to 1,000. Anything below 200 is considered unhealthy for the individual and society (shame 20, guilt 30, apathy 50, grief 75, fear 100, desire 125, anger 150, pride 175). Anything above 200 represents constructive expressions of power (courage 200, neutrality 250, willingness 310, acceptance 350, reason 400, love 500, joy 540, peace 600, enlightenment 700 -1000).
So armed with this Reader’s Digest version of understanding our emotions as energy, what can we do?
If everything is frequency and we are experiencing a low vibration frequency within our body, the idea is that we can influence and shift that frequency by coming into contact with a higher frequency. The higher frequency could come from our own thoughts (i.e. meditation), music, movement..etc. Think about what types of things naturally raise your vibration or make you feel good.
1.) Practice feeling one of the high-vibration emotions such as gratitude or love. Metta (loving kindness) Meditation is a great starting point.
2.) Eat high-vibration food. Everything is energy including food. Your body responds differently to processed junk food v.s. nourishing whole foods.
3.) Consume high-vibe television, music, books, movies…etc. Does social media make you feel energetic or insecure? Does that violent action film actually enhance your mood or does it contribute to your anxiety? Does the music you listen to include violent or low-vibration lyrics? How might changing the soundtrack of your daily commute contribute to the course of your day?
4.) Surround yourself with beauty. Allow your home and work environments to reflect beauty, passion, and enthusiasm for life. Hang art that inspires you. Incorporate nature . Use colors that calm and rejuvenate you. Reduce clutter and create more space for clarity. Your surroundings have a big effect on how you feel on the inside.
5.) Try an alternative therapy technique. One of the challenges (or benefits) of the way the body works is that it will actually store thoughts and emotions within the body to be dealt the later. So it’s a benefit if we know HOW to get those emotions out, and it’s a challenge if they just stay stuck or stagnant in our tissues. Things like Splankna and EMDR are designed to help resolve past trauma and unclog stored stress.
There are tons of resources nowadays based on frequency. Listening to higher vibration sounds and tones can help create a sense of calm, focus or energy based on your needs. Try playing a high vibe soundtrack like this one in the background during your day to see how you feel!
